The Skin Clinic

Your Skin Confidence Begins Here

In today’s saturated skincare market, navigating through numerous products and conflicting advice can feel overwhelming, even for those fortunate to have ‘normal’ skin. Questions about proper cleansing, exfoliation, the use of retinol, sunscreen and sudden breakouts are common concerns we hear daily. At our clinic, we offer a comprehensive range of skincare services tailored to address diverse skin tones, types, and age groups.

As medical professionals we take a patient care approach to skincare, side-stepping the marketing hype from the big brands and focusing instead on sound diagnosis and employing treatments and products scientifically proven to give visible results. And we always start with a skin consultation.

Skin consultations

At your skin consultation, our priority is to understand your skin history, concerns, and goals. Through a comprehensive examination and assessment, we tailor treatment and skincare plans specifically for you

.

During your skin consultation we will:

  • Fully evaluate your make-up free skin’s texture, thickness and tone to measure conditions and sensitivities
  • Use our state-of-the art Observ360 skin scanner to capture high-resolution photos using different light sources to assess your skin’s health, hydration levels, oiliness, and any signs of inflammation or sun damage.
  • Use our findings to recommend personalised daily skincare routines, potential treatments and medical care skincare products to complement your in-clinic treatments.

Why medical grade skincare?

At HGface we prioritise the effectiveness and precision of medical grade skincare over beauty grade alternatives. Unlike beauty grade skincare, which focuses on surface-level results, medical grade skincare is supported by extensive research and cutting-edge technology, allowing the active ingredients to penetrate deeper layers of the skin and address skin conditions at cellular level. We exclusively partner with leading medical grade skincare brands supported by extensive research and clinical studies, ensuring powerful and effective solutions for common skin concerns.

The cost of medical grade skincare is often comparable to, if not more economical than the big brand beauty alternatives. Additionally, we prioritise environmentally friendly options whenever possible, aligning with our commitment to sustainability.

Skin Health Treatments

At HGface we love chemical peel treatments for the incredible results they can achieve, quickly and painlessly with no downtime. Our signature peels target the more superficial layers of the skin and can be considered as a ‘medical facial’.

Chemical Peel FAQs

Have a question? We’re here to help.

  • What can we treat with chemical peels?

Conditions that can be improved with chemical peels include:

    • Ageing skin, fine lines and wrinkles
    • Acne and blemishes
    • Enlarged pores
    • Uneven skin tone and texture
    • Superficial pigmentation and sun damage

  • What does a chemical peel involve?

The face is first cleansed and gently exfoliated before a preparatory product is applied.  A peel solution is then applied to the skin.  This can be salicylic acid, lactic acid, glycolic acid or a combination of acids depending on your skin type and condition being treated.  The solution is left on the skin for between 1 and 7 minutes after which time it is neutralised to reveal smoother, brighter skin.

Our signature peel treatments finish off with a soothing, hydrating sheet mask and a 20 minute session of relaxing, healing LED light.  Treatment time is 45 – 60 minutes.

  • How many treatments do I need and how long do they last?

Although you will likely see an improvement in skin quality after one chemical peel, we recommend a course of between 4-6 treatments at 4 week intervals. For maintenance of skin texture and quality and single peel treatments are advised every 1-3 months along with a consistent home skincare programme.

  • How much does it cost?

ZO stimulator peel. £75.00. Neostrata bespoke peel £95.00. Obagi Blue Radiance Peel £95.00

Microneedling

Microneedling also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is a safe and effective skin rejuvenation treatment that helps restore youthful skin and treat various skin conditions.  It works by triggering a healing response in the skin which stimulates the natural production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid and helps to regulate normal skin cell function.  The result is a healthier skin which looks more youthful and behaves as it should.

When performed by a skin professional, using a medical grade device, microneedling can improve common skin concerns such as fine lines and wrinkles, skin texture and tone and scarring, including acne scars.

The Science behind Microneedling

Medical grade microneedling creates tiny micro-wounds in the skin using extremely fine surgical needles, which trigger the body’s natural healing response.  This stimulates cell growth and collagen production, resulting in rejuvenated skin.  The most commonly-used devices are microneedling rollers or pens.

Introducing XCellaris Pro Twist® Microneedling Pen

Not all Skin-needling Pens are the same.

As microneedling has grown in popularity, so has the technology.  At HGface we offer the most advanced and precise needling device currently available on the market, the XCellaris Pro Twist®.

The XCellaris Pro Twist® is the only device which features non-traumatic, cone-shaped, sterile micro needles that can glide over the skin at 150 strokes per second, penetrating at controlled depths up to 2.5mm.

This device creates micro-wounds that heal quickly, promoting new tissue generation while protecting the skin’s integrity.  Unlike lower quality devices with knife shaped needles, the XCellars Pro Twist® minimises damage and discomfort, providing a painless treatment with minimal downtime and reduced redness.

Microneedling FAQs

Have a question? We’re here to help.

  • What can be treated with Xcellaris Pro Twist?

Medical grade microneedling is one of the few skin therapies that is suitable for treating all skin types, including most ethnic skin types (subject to testing).  It is suitable for treating the delicate skin around the mouth and neck and areas of skin on the body.

    Conditions we commonly treat include:

Ageing skin, fine lines and wrinkles

    Uneven skin tone and texture

    Open pores

Scars such as acne, chicken pox and wound scars

    Collagen deficiency

    Pigmentation and sun damage

    Stretch marks

    Hair loss

This non-invasive procedure offers a great alternative to treatments like laser resurfacing, with greater comfort and shorter healing times.

  • What does the treatment involve?

The XCellaris Pro Twist® provides a painless experience without the need for local anaesthetic cream. The procedure feels like a face massage and a mild skin scrub. After cleansing and prepping the skin, a serum is applied, followed by the microneedling device, which creates tiny channels in the skin. This process, combined with the serum, stimulates collagen and elastin production, resulting in smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin. We also include a soothing post-treatment mask and LED light therapy to enhance healing.

  • Who is suitable for Xcellaris ProTwist?

Microneedling is safe for most people but not recommended for pregnant or nursing individuals or those with impaired wound healing. A thorough medical history assessment is conducted before treatment. Patients on oral Roaccutane should wait 12 months post-treatment before undergoing microneedling.

  • How many treatments do I need?

You may see improvements after one session, but we recommend 3-6 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart for optimal results. For scarring, the results can be long-lasting or permanent. For overall skin texture and quality, maintenance treatments every 9-12 months are advised. Improvements can continue for up to 6 months post-treatment.

  • How much does it cost?

HGface Signature XCellaris Pro Twist® Treatment:

    Single session: £225.00

    Course of 4: £800.00

Exosome Therapy

Purasomes®

Exosome therapy is a ‘new-generation’, powerful treatment for ageing skin, inflammatory skin conditions, pigmentation and scarring.

Exosomes are particles that are naturally released from cells, and stem cells in particular. They carry information, proteins, multiple growth factors and messenger RNA, acting as messengers for cell-to-cell communication. They have the ability to activate your own cells to function as actively and effectively as they did when they were younger.

Exosome FAQs

Have a question? We’re here to help.

  • What can Exosomes be used to treat?

Exosomes have potent repair and regenerative effects on all types of skin tissues and can help with:

    • Ageing skin
    • Skin tightening
    • Skin brightening and radiance.
    • Pore tightenimg
    • Correction of hyperpigmentation
    • Reduction in inflammation, rosacea, acne and dermatitis
    • Improvement in wound healing and scarring

  • What does the treatment involve?

Exosomes come in the form of a serum that is applied to the skin during a microneedling treatment.

  • Who is suitable for treatment?

Exosome treatment is safe and suitable for most people.  It is not suitable for those who are pregnant or nursing or for those who have reduced wound healing capability.  Your medical history will be assessed prior to treatment to ensure it is safe for you to proceed.  Patients who are taking oral Roaccutane (isotretinoin) should wait 12 months after completing their treatment before having microneedling to the skin.

  • How many treatments do I need and how long do they last?

Although you will likely see an improvement in skin quality after one exosome treatment we recommend a course of between 3-6 treatments at 4 week intervals.

For an improvement of skin texture, skin quality and collagen levels, single maintenance treatments are advised every 6-12 months.  It is common to continue to see an improvement in the skin quality for up to 6 months after exosome treatment..

All exosome treatments require an in-person consultation and review of your medical history to assess suitability for treatment.

  • How much does it cost?

Profhilo®FAQs

Have a question? We’re here to help.
